I started writing about my oil sensitivity on this blog because I needed to talk about what I was experiencing and see if I was alone. As more people have commented I have realized that I am far from alone.
Over the last few months I’ve been working on a short Kindle book tentatively named “Living With an Oil Sensitivity” that talks about my experiences and how I got oils out of my diet. It was supposed to be a short thing that didn’t take that long, but it was harder than I thought it was going to be. Still, I finally finished my first draft!
I really tried to focus on the practical aspects of avoiding oils and talk about the real difficult places that oils pop up. E.g. meats, dairy products, meals out, body products, air fresheners, plastic and many more. I tried to make it easier to remember by including stories of the weirder places that I managed to get sick from and what I’ve found that helps after I’ve been exposed. I even include some hints for cooking without oils.
After a serious edit, I’m going to be publishing it on kindle. It should be coming out in a few months.
